I quite like it - it reminds me of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGx-xU6TnU8, which I gather is about a real girl called Albertine who was rescued from the genocide in Rwanda by a member of the 'enemy'.
I'd probably go with Tina or Tini as a nn if I used it, but I like Alby, it's cute.Of your combos I really like:
Albertine Daisy
Albertine Celeste
Albertine Lenore
Albertine Mary
Albertine Viola

I've never much cared for Albert. It's a family "middle name," being the middle name of my grand-father, great-grandfather, uncle, probably more extended. I can't see anything in it that I like.Albertine gives me the impression of a severely unworldly frontier woman from the dust bowl or some such, like Rosasharn from The Grapes of Wrath, which normally I could work with in a recycling sense, but this would be too much. It's the same feeling I get from Augustina. Cool in theory, but dreadfully impractical.Alby reminds me of that loathsome polygamist leader character from Big Love.I do, however, love Alban. I also think Albany is cute as a feminization.
