[Opinions] Amity
Here's one that I *never* see mentioned here, even with an abundance of virtue-loving namers. It means friendship, though I am sure I do not have to tell many of you that. I have seen it used before once, and it is popular among Quakers, given its meaning.Amity Charlotte
Amity Cecilia
Amity Louisa..these types of rhythms, etc.

I think the reason you never see it mentioned is because some of the older posters associate it with "The Amityville Horror", a horror movie that came out in the late 70's.Amity Charlotte is nice.

I've grown to appreciate it, but would never use it.

I think it's pretty. I've only met one Amity before, and I remember being surprised that I actually ran into an Amity. Out of your combos, I like Amity Charlotte the best.

I really like it, and it easily yields to a common nickname of Amy, should the bearer of the name not like the unusualness of it.I do like Verity a bit better, though it's so similar. Both are pretty.

I like it. It's nice because it's kinda "rare," but well-known-ish, ya know? Amity Louisa is gorgeous.

I love itWhen I was shopping for a new name for myself, I seriously considered it, but my mother hated it so passionately I ended up not choosing it (she hated the movie "The Amityville Horror" and could never disassociate the word Amity from the movie). I love the spirit it engenders. It's such a gentle, comforting and friendly-sounding name.Amity Louisa is very pretty. I also like:Amity Winifred
Amity Cornelia
Amity Beatrice
Amity June
Amity Isadore

I strongly dislike the sound and consequent mien of Amity -- I much prefer Amabel.
