Whoa, I was just thinking of these names! I really like Octavian just because of its historical significance, but the Oc- beginning throws me off. It's not very attractive. I wish the first Roman emperor's name had been Tavian! Anyway, although it *does* have the nn Tavi to fall back on, I do believe Octavian is too weird to use.
Octavian and Demetrius are too long and complicated as a combo.
Octavia is interesting, but it's of one one those really long names like Lavinia and Sophronia that puts me to mind of characters in a novel about the South. IOW, it doesn't sound like the kind of name a real person would have, not since the 19th century anyway.
