[Opinions] Old-fashioned nicknames I'm loving
I'm starting to love (sort of) old-fashioned nicknames. They sound so adorable! WDYT of these? Any others to suggest?
Tilly - For Ottoline, Matilda
Edie - For Eden (I don't like Edith!)
Nell - For Eleanor, Helena
Kitty - For Katherine, Caitlín, Caitríona/Katrina
Effie - For Ophelia (I love this!)
Evie - For Eve, Eva
Rosie - For Rosaline, Rosalie
Ally - For Alejandra, Alison, Alexandra (and Ailís! This is my nickname.)

omg! I love Nell (especially for Eleanor or Helena - those are great names)...I don't know why. Tilly is cute, too.
Kitty and Ally strike me as sort of fussy.
I like Edie and Evie (and Eden, Eve, Eva), but nn seem rather superfluous for those names...
I used to have a pony named Rosie, she was the best, and I currently adore all Rosaline/Rose variations, so...I have a soft spot for that one.
Effie could go either way for me...for some reason it reminds me of the F word...but paired with Ophelia, it's so cute...almost too cute...or not...so to sum up: it's neat but nms.

I love Tillie/Tilly, Edie, Kitty, Evie, and Rosie/Rosy.

Tilly is okay.
Edie is cute.
Nell is okay.
Kitty sort of annoys me; maybe for someone really young.
I like Effie.
Also like Evie.
Rosie is okay; sort of like it.
Ally is okay but too modern/popular IMO. I know about 7 of them (most are Allisons, Alyssas, etc.) This is my favorite spelling though; I don't like Allie or Ali as nns.

I adore Edie, Nell, Evie and Rosie and would happily have daughters named all three (they would be Edith, Eleanor, Caoimhe and Rose as full names though)
I also really like Tilly and Ally (but I prefer it spelt Allie). I have bad associations with Kitty which upsets me a bit because I used to love it and Effie was the name of a satirical TV personality in Australia years ago and I can't get past that association

Love most of them. I wouldn't consider Ally an old fashioned nn though. It's more modern. I don't like it, though I love Alastriona. Don't know what nickname I'd use instead.
I plan to use Eve nn Evie for my first daughter at the moment. I've also considered Effie and Edie as nicknames for Josephine and Edith.
