[Opinions] Eimear
WDYT of Eimear? (It's pronounced EH-mur, not EE-mur) I've always liked it. What image does it give you? Can you think of any good combos with Eimear?

My Irish cousin named her dd Eimear. It's one of my all time favorite Irish names. I adore it. But she pronounces it "EE-mer / EE-mur." Different parts of the courtry pronounce names differently so maybe that accounts for the difference. (She's in the south, in County Tipperary.)ETA:Eimear Siobhan

Eimear has such a dreamy quality to it that some of the mns above oddly felt right at home next to her. Do any of them strike your fancy?

It's ok - I used to dislike it more. It's a name I feel I should like more though. Not as popular as it used to be. I say EE-mur as does every Emer/Eimear I've ever met.It has always goven me an image of a gangley, freckly girl with reddish/fair hair who is very sporty and a bit loud.

Its nice though from looking at it i wouldn't expect it to be pronounced that wayI picture a little red headed girl with ringletts who likes to have tea parties near the shed in her grandads garden hehe just the first thing that pops into my mind, a nice image though

My little sister's name :)We pronounce it EE-mur though. Eims for short :) For me, I just see my little sister- she has attitude, is super outgoing, bubbly, very very clever, cheeky, determined and stubborn. She is Eimear Leah which doesn't have the best flow in the world but Leah is a family name for my Dad's partner (it is pronounced LEH-ah not LEE-ah).Eimear Constance

A lovely list all around. My favorites would be: Eimear Constance -- It has a Gaelic Revival, turn of the 20th century feeling for me. I'm picturing Countess Markowitz / Markievicz (sp?) whose fn was Constance, if I remember correctly. Anyway, very Yeats-y.Eimear Delphine -- Eimear has a magical, fairy-like quality for me. Delphine makes me think of diaphanous material. Wonderful images.Eimear Penelope -- Spunky.Eimear Charlotte -- Soft and gentle.

I've always kind of liked it. It's very calm and strong and medieval-y.I can't come up with any combos I really like much. Eimear Fiona or Eimear Fionnuala come the closest. Oh! Eimear Honora. That wins.

Thumbs up on all three, as far as I'm concerned. :-)
