[Opinions] Alix or Alice? (m)
Alix is the French form of Alice. It is pronounced a-LEEKS.

Alice, butmostly because I think Alix would have pronunciation/spelling issues. I actually really like Alix, but Alice still appeals to me more... maybe just because it's more familiar.

Alice times a millionI know Alix is legit, but it still looks to me like someone getting creative with Alex- even thoguh I know it's not. Plus I don't like the sound of it.Alice is gorgeous.

Alice, but...What about the name Aliz? I know a girl named Aliz. It's also a pretty name. Just thought it was worth mentioning. :)

I love Alix with the German pronunciation (as in Princess Alix of Hesse). Alice is one of my very favorite names, though, so I choose Alice.

AlixWhile I do adore names for their simplicty, and Alice is one of those, Alix has a beautiful flair to it.As I've said before though, I fear that the "laypeople" would think Alix to be a variant of Alex and pronounce it as such. No issues with Alice.

Alix- much more gorgeous and uncommon. Alice is yawn-inducing for me.

I do love both. I have to go with Alice though since it is my grandmother's name.

I prefer Alice.

Alice. I've developed a pretty strong attachment to this name. Alix is pretty cool though.

Alix is my sister's name!
I doubt my dad knew it was the French form of Alix though to be honest I just think he was looking for an 'unusual' way to spell Alex.
But as a name I rather like it. To me, it's unusual looking without being 'out there'.

Although it's an old French form of Alice it is not considered the only version of Alice in French. Alice is used in France and Alix is used on both boys and girls there. You can see it used on a male character in this French/Belgian comic book: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Alix The name Alice was used 155,447 times between 1900 and 2003 in France while Alix was used 17,681 times between those years. The stats are taken from the INSEE (Institut National de la Statistique et des Études Économiques).
I prefer the form Alice but Alix is very nice as well.

I like Alix and Alice, but I must say I like Alice better, because I like Alex better than Alix.
