Do you prefer just Finn or Finlay with the nickname Finn?

FinnFinn is the full anglicized name; Finlay is the surname derived from it; Finnegan is the nickname derived from it.

Actually you're wrong. Finlay is not derived from Finn and Finlay is not from a surname - the surname is from the first name. Finlay is the anglicised form of Fionnlagh - which is a first name!Finn is from Fionn.Finnegan is a surname.Thanks

Don't worry - a lot of people think the same, especially in the US as Finlay is a more common as a surname there!

Finn. No contest. Finlay looks and sounds ridiculous to me and reminds me of "filet." Finley's better. Finn is nice. It reminds me of Huck Finn and Finny from "A Separate Peace." I think Finny is awesome and would make a handsome nickname to Finn.

To me Finn seems a bit too short and abrupt for a full name so i prefer it as a nickname. I like Finlay, but Finnegan is my favorite Fin- name.

The 'A' just looks off in the name to me, for some reason.
