Ow... I at least hoped it was for a girl...

omg I thought it was a GIRL!I love reading the what is in a name section in that mag :) funny the little explanations some of them come up with for their unusual names.

As if "Charmaine" wasn't odd enough. Now there's her little "Xayviah". I can just hear the future giggles and pointing from his peers.

Charmaine's not THAT odd... at least it's a real name and I've met a couple of them.

Well, yeah, Charmaine doesn't sound that strange... but I just have to wonder about parents who have perfectly nice names (of their own and also at their disposal for their children) and choose jokes like these for their children.

I do agree that Xayviah was stretching things... I initially thought they'd simply taken a name they'd wanted to use and modified it on account of having a girl rather than a boy, but they made a boys' name girly and stuck it on a boy and I just don't get it.

I'm speechless. Way to spoil the beautiful Xavier! Why do parents do things like this?

It looks like a feminized form of the name (and the pink background doesn't help).

And to think this comes from the country I love, second only to my own! Noooo.

That really is awful. I love, love, love Xavier, but Xayviah? It's horrible. A mockery of the original name. Is that -iah bit supposed to make it look biblical or something?

*vomits* I always loved Rachel, so I think I will name my first born daughter Rhaychyll.
