WDYTO Nessa? Would you use it? Would a girl named Nessa go by Nessie or just Nessa, or something else? What are some middle names for it?

Also, what about Samwell on a boy? It's the name of a character. Does it sound too much like a mutant Samuel, or a Samuel/Maxwell cross?

I wouldn't use Samwell but I might use Nessa.

Samwell is nice but Nessa sounds too much like a nickname. My name is Vanessa and I really like my name. What about Nessa as a nn for Vanessa?

Samwell made me think of LOTR Samwise, otherwise it would have a pleasing sound. I like Maxwell and Samuel is ok, so it wouldn't be too weird.
Nessa is really nice. I think she could go by both, it depends how she introduces herself. I don't like Vanessa, but Nessa is cute and spunky and can work at any age.

I adore Nessa, but due to the fact that most people associate it with Loch Ness monster -Nessie, I prefer it as a nickname for Vanessa or Nerissa.

Nessa? Only if were short for Vanessa and I'd never use that name. Also the obvious connotations to a certain loch with a monster in it...

Samwell? I don't like 'Sam-' names.

Nessa sounds like just a pet form of Vanessa to me, I wouldn't use it as a full name. Samwell, however, is quite interesting. I do get a Samuel/Maxwell/Samwise feeling, but I actually prefer it over all three. Great for a character name, maybe even a GP for my own list. :)

I kinda like Nessa but i wouldnt use it. It reminds me of the Loch Ness Monster too. I'd prefer Vanessa.

I like Nessa (like the Loch Ness monster) but Samwell is eewwwww. It looks and sounds so wrong.

Isn't Nessie the Loch Ness monster's nickname?

I love Nessa, but that's all I can think of when I hear Nessie.

Samwell's not terrible, but I prefer Samuel/Maxwell.

Nessa, might get the nn of, Loch Ness monster. As you've already mentioned, Samwell is a smush of Samuel and Maxwell.

How about Vanessa, nn Nessa?
