[Opinions] Alexis
What do you think of Alexis for a girl? I don't mind it on a boy but recently I've really started to like it on a girl.
1. Do you think it's too common? How many do you know?
2. Do you see it rising or falling in the next couple of years?
3. I hate all the nicknames you can get from it, do you think it's possible to just call her Alexis or will people always want to make it Ali or Alex or Lexi?
4. Do you prefer Alexis or Alexandria? (note: it's AlexandrIa, not Alexandra).

I think Alexis is a slightly trendy name that sounds nice enough, but doesn't really stand out much. Many people here prefer it for a boy, but it's all girl to me. I've never met a male Alexis.
1.It *is* common where I live. My fiance's cousin recently named her daughter Alexis Ann, and I've met others, all young girls. It was just rising in popularity by the time I finished school.
2.Rising. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it made a small jump in the charts this year.
3.Most girls named Alexis get a nickname; it's hard not to call her Alex, Lex, or Lexi at least some of the time. I think that happens with most names.
4.Neither. I think Alexis is bland, and Alexandria is all ruffles and bows. Neither are my taste.

I like it! I don't think it's too common, I've never met one. But on the other hand, I don't live in the US. I think it will fall in popularity. and yes, I think it's possible to get away from the nicknames. It's a short name and doesn't need a nickname.
Alexis is way better than any other Alex name for a girl.

I don't really like Alexis it sounds masculine to me
1. I've known a couple
2. Falling
3. It doesn't need a nickname
4. Alexandria

I like Alexis on a girl, not on a boy (it's too used on girls for a poor boy to carry throughout his life, but that might just be me).
I knew a girl once named Alexis, but that's it.
I think you can get away with no nicknames. I have a name that could be shortened, but it never is, because I just don't call myself that...
I like Alexis and Alexandria! lol no help there.
