Same here.

And I actually like the name. But still, I see/hear "anus" regardless of the actual difference in spelling and pronunciation.

I don't think it is pronounced that way

I think it is supposed to be pronounced Ann-ess. Not that it makes it any better of a name. I don't particularly like it any way it is pronounced.
