[Opinions] Amelia or Emilia?
Which spelling do you prefer: Amelia or Emilia? I prefer Emilia, but Amelia is one of the nicest Roman names other than Aurelia. Can you think of any combos for either spelling?

EmiliaBoth names give me a completely different feeling; and I don't think they're even related except for sound. I'll have to go with Emilia; 1) it's Shakespearean, 2) It looks better IMO, and 3) I don't really like Amelia.

DittoI like them both, actually, but agree that they give me a different feeling and aren't supposed to be related by anything except sound. Click the blue link - this site also claims that Amelia is off of the Germanic Amalia. I didn't think it was Roman.

I love Amelia. It always has reminded me of Amelia Earheart, a great, brave feminine namesake. Emilia just looks like an elaborate form of Emily. If you like the look of it, I'd go with Emily personally.Amelia is tough to put in a combo. It might owe itself best to a three name combo. I'll give it a shot though...Amelia Josephine

AmeliaSuch a lovely, wholesome name. A classic beauty (without makeup). I adore it. I would use it. It makes me see a lemon custard yellow, a favorite color of mine.Amelia Beatrix
Amelia Caroline
Amelia Catherine
Amelia Frances
Amelia Josephine
Amelia Ruth
Amelia SusanEmilia is awkward and witchy, and adds an unattractive nasality. It makes me see dark blood red and black. All I can see is a tattered, anorexic woman with bulging arthritic joints protruding from her skeletal build. If used by an English speaker, it is merely an unsuccessful attempt to "gussy up" something that is already perfect--like a girl who over-tweezes her eyebrows which are already naturally beautiful.
