Maybe because I'm a Latin student but Maxima sounds ridiculous to me. Maximiliana is too weighty, I'd prefer something like Maximilia but even then that's a bit of a mouthful. It's kind of pretty though. I really like the nickname Max on a girl but only as a nickname.
