[Opinions] Saga
Is Saga (f) unusable in the English world because of the literary association? Or is it just too... I don't know what. So what do you think? Any combos? Or do you just hate no matter what?

I really like it and I think it's usable. It is a goddess name rather than just a random word name. I suppose you could say it's akin to Flora or Iris in that way, though they are more common as names than Saga. It's certainly better than 'oops I've confused my name book with a dictionary' names like Memory or Endurance or something like that. Saga is actually a name, albeit a deity. I think we had a poster here once with a daughter named Saga. I'd much rather see a Saga than a Pencil ;)Saga Beatrice
Saga Winifred
Saga Joanna
Saga Marianne
Saga Penelope
Saga Rosalind
Saga Vivienne

I like it but personally wouldn't use it as it's the name of a holiday tours company for the elderly here in the UK.

I wouldn't do it... Sounds tacky from an En.-speaker's perspective because of the literary meaning and then on top of that, the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear it is the name of a small rural prefecture (province) on Kyushu in southern Japan... It also reminds me of the operating room scenes on the Muppet Show about "the continuing saaaaga of a quack who's gone to the dogs". (Ralph was playing the dr.)

I dislike it. It sounds like a random word name. It'd be like naming your kid Novel or Story to me.

I love it bot only for a boy. I think of a saga like a story.

I don't like it. I used to watch a show about a Chinese cat and her brother and sister and her name was Sagwa, and that's what I hear when I say Saga.
