[Opinions] Ava or Eva...?
We are struggling between whether to spell out daughter's name Eva or Ava both pronounced Ay-vah. We love the name but our issue is when her future teacher is calling roll in class she will always be called EE-va and have to correct everyone if we spell it with an E. But MY name begins with an E (Erin) and we are trying to continue that theme but it's not 100% important. I want what's best for the kid, ya know.

I've always preferred Eva with that pronunciation. I never much cared for Ava for whatever reason.
I'd spell it as Ava.
I say Eva EE-vah, and Ava AV-ah.
I like Ava. =]
I like Ava. =]
I'd use Ava of those two, but I'd be tempted to change it either to Eve or Evelyn.

I like the spelling Eva better, but I agree that with the spelling Ava she would have to correct people much less often. With my name I am always having to correct people's pronunciation and because of that I experience I would say go with Ava.
If you would like the name pronounced AY-vah, then I think you should use the Ava spelling.
For the sake of ease, I'd go with Ava. But I'm lazy! lol
Ava because everytime your daughter got to know someone with the name Eva they would think her name was EE-vah, i thought you were going to ask which name you liked better EE-vah or Ay-vah. My great grandma's name was Eva Prn like EE-vah.
If it's pronounced ay-vah, spell it Ava. Eva has a different prn if you ask me and I don't like Eva either.
