I do automatically think of Harry Potter, but that's not a bad association (to most people), so I think it's perfectly usable. I do think that it'll get more common, but not ridiculously common--I doubt this name will ever be #1, but I may be wrong.

I don't know anyone named Hermione, and I pronounce it "her-MI-o-nee", and I like it better than Hermine, which makes me think of the name Herman, which I don't like.
