In the Kingdom of Viridian
The Advisors of the young King Albert were searching for a good bride for him to become Queen and to bear his children. They settled for Beatrice, a distant cousin of the King. At first, Albert wasn't really happy about marrying at such an young age, but when he met Beatrice, they got along quite well. A couple of months later they married and over the time they started to really fall in love with eachother. Shortly afterwards the Queen became pregnant and gave birth to Princess Elizabeth (nicknamed Betsy). Beatrice, though she was related with the royal family even before her marriage, had a hard time to settle at the Viridian court, but she now adjusted to her life as a Queen and mother as well.
The second pregnancy of the Queen resulted in the birth of Princess Calanthe and, more importantly, of Prince Valerius, the first son of the couple. The joy about the birth soon came to an end when the Epidemic typhus started to spread among the people of Viridian. The king quickly decided to help his people by sending out doctors and setting up special hospitals. The decease was successly banished and people started to recover. Prince Valerius was named Crown Princess and the people gave King Albert the nickname "the Just", while the Queen was nicknamed "the Caring" because during the time of the plague, she took care of sick people herself even though she knew that she might get sick herself.
