I say Eh-lie-us and I've not heard it any other way. It is one of my favorite names. I'd use but I feel it is too close to Andreas.

I can't say I like it very much. I find it rather pretentious and it also has a creepy vibe. I've always thought it sounded like a good name for some doomed Edgar Allan Poe type character.

I like the name Elias; it has a strong feel to it, but not too strong.

I too have recently started liking the name a lot, mainly because it is the only middle name I can find that I like that goes with Jacob. It really is a great middle name, I think. I pronounce it ell-EYE-us also.

I like it too. I pronounce it either ell-EYE-uss or eh-LEE-us. It might be my favorite Eli- name. Eli is nice too. I think Elias sounds more masculine than Elisha or Eliot and I like that it's less popular than Elijah.

I find Elias (emphasis on the second syllable) irresistibly handsome.

I like it. It's very handsome, old-fashioned, and intellectual. I don't much like the ELL-ee-us prn though, so don't use that.
