Help[Opinions] Mythology Twins
My cousin's college professor had twin girls this past week.
Aphrodite & Atalanta.
My mythology isn't too good, but I KNOW Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty and I THINK was either a worrior goddess or a hunter.
What do you think? I actually kind of like them. I don't know the middle names, though.

Wow! I wouldn't be able to do this myself - any future kids would need names just as big - but I do like it.

Wow, that is really some intense naming. I dislike Venus, but I love the rest of the names. I wouldn't use them together though. It is too much, especially having Aphrodite and Venus together.

Venus AND Aphrodite? Why would you name two kids after the same goddess?

Ohhh awesome, I love Atalanta but always feared people would call her Atlanta (well I actually like that too, but if I name her Atalanta I'd want her to be called Atalanta). It's a great name.
Aphrodite is a bit much but fine. I guess it's a bit hard for a little girl to carry as it doesn't even come with a more approachable nickname.
I'm not a fan of sibling names starting with the same initial but I think it might have been a coincidence in this case as the other siblings have names that start with different letters.
I find Cassandra a bit boring, it seems quite common. At least I hear it once in a while. Kassandra is nice, too.
Victoria is nice but common. Jason seems trendy and common.

I love mytholagy and the Greeks have some great names but Aphrodite? Its pretty but i'd hate to actualy have to live with it. Plus she was the goddess of love and beauty but not nessacarily very pure love,realy more lust then love realy.And she caused ALOT of trouble too.
Atalanta I could actuly live with, but she's not actualy a goddess just a heroine. She was the princess of Arcadia and her father tried to kill her as a baby.Atalanta was also famous as a hunter and was favored by Artimis.Her most famous story though is that she never wanted to marry but her father insisted,so she agreed to marry the first man to beat her in a race (and those who lost would be killed) until finaly Aphrodite helped Melanion win by giving him three golden apples to throw to distract her.

Although I think they could have chosen a better name than Jason...I've read Medea, and he did her wrong. Who wants to name their son, especially if they're mythology geeks, after one of history or mythology's most famous unfaithful husbands?

Funny they had twins named Atalanta and Aphrodite. Aphrodite helped [err, guy whom Atalanta eventually married] win a race against Atalanta (by giving his golden apples to distract her!) in order to prove he was worthy of marrying her (she would only marry a guy who could beat her in a race).
