exH: Obsidian Mikayl (Elf, dark brown hair, green eyes, thief)
DW: Martha Malai (Elf, white hair, green eyes, inn keeper)
DS: Arizair Sky (Elf, blonde hair, blue eyes) - age 10
DS (twin): Korki River (Elf, black hair, brown eyes) - age 7
DS (twin): Alavel Phoenix (Elf, black hair, blue eyes) - age 7
DS: Corsolae Dragon (Elf, black hair, purple eyes) - 5
After the elves Daesum and Azaya passed away, they left their inn to their only child-- Martha (where her parents got that name, the other elves wonder... they think it might be from Maratha, which means "priest healer", but no one is sure)
She'd only been running the place for a few months when, in the dead of night, she heard a strange noise in the kitchen. When she went to inspect it, she found thieves!
She purposefully knocked over a stack of pans and scared them off, and they all ran out the window from which they came. Except for one, an elf named Obsidian, who had, somehow, gotten caught under the sink.
Martha, being a kind elf, freed him, and he thanked her and apologized for breaking into her store. He also offered to make her dinner. She accepted, and he began cooking right away, right there in the inn's kitchen.
Within two weeks, they were married, and soon they found that they were expecting their first child. It was a stormy evening when that small elf was born, and he was named Arizair Sky. Arizair means silver lightning, which is what his parents witnessed in the sky that night, and sky was a word that Martha had picked up from humans who had spent the night in the inn.
Within days, Arizair's parents began to argue.
"Where did he get such colors? Golden hair and blue eyes!" Obsidian would say. "We both have green eyes, where did this child get blue? And there are no gold-heads in either of our families! Unless perhaps I am not his father!"
"You are," Martha insisted.
"How can I know what you do, those nights I'm out doing my job?"
Martha would simply sigh. She had no way of proving that Arizair was Obsidian's child, but she knew he was.
It took some years, but Obsidian finally dropped the subject, and Martha found herself expecting again. She had a strong feeling she'd have another son, and she was doubly right when she gave birth to twin boys.
Obsidian was not home when the twins came into the world, so Martha named them herself. The first was called Korki, which meant "black void", because he showed very dark coloring-- brown eyes and black hair. The second was called Alavel, meaning "sea sword", because he had bright blue eyes.
Obsidian was furious when he came home.
"Why don't our children look like us! Where is this black hair from?!" he demanded, looking at the twins sleeping in their bed.
Martha shook her head and went to give Arizair his dinner.
Some time went by, and Obsidian and Martha welcomed their fourth child-- another boy. Throughout the pregnancy, Obsidian said, that if this child did not look like at least one of them, he would leave. He would not stay and raise four children that he believed were not his.
And when the boy was born, Obsidian took one look and stormed away. Corsolae, as his mother named him, had black hair and purple eyes. His name meant "legendary history whisper", as he had quietly changed her world.
Five years have passed since then, and Martha raises her beautiful, yet nothing-like-their-father, sons alone at the inn. It's probably for the best, he wasn't a very good influence.
Martha & Ariz, Korki, Alavel, and Solae.
lol, I didn't intend for them to breakup when I started writing that. Oh well, ha.

A year after where this story left off, Martha met a mercenary who was staying at her in. There were no wars at the time, the elves hadn't had a war in ages, and here was this mercenary, sitting at a table in the inn's restaurant. They got to talking and Martha got to thinking... her boys needed a father figure. Arizair especially, he was becoming a man so quickly and there was no one to show him how to do manly things, except for their ancient neighbor, and he wasn't really up to it.
So day after day, Martha would talk to this mercenary, who she learned was named Cyor, and eventually she asked him to accompany her to the village dance. Which he did, gladly. And as it goes, they were married shortly after.
Another year went by, and Martha and Cyor welcomed a set of twin boys. Martha really loved raising boys, so she was exceptionally pleased.
