Soren and Clarissa met not long after Clary's father died and left the inn to her. After closing the tavern in the front of the inn, Clary heard a rustling behind the bar. When she went to look, she saw Soren there, trying to find anything of value. Clary offered to let him work at the inn for a year, rather than sending him to the local jail, to pay off his wrongdoing. He seemed to be kind, and even good-looking. By the end of the year, the two were engaged. Soren was 23, Clary was 21.
Adelaide and Fiona were born on the first anniversary of Soren and Clary's marriage. It was clear from Addy's alertness and quick development that she was a werewolf like her father. Fiona was not far behind her twin, though she was only half-werewolf, meaning that she just has her father's supernatural strength and speed. Addy, now eleven and beginning to control her powers, enjoys running with her father under the full moon. Fiona stays close to the inn, but still likes to challenge the other village children to a foot race now and again.
Matthias and Lucia were born fully human, to Clary and Soren's slight relief. Clary wanted at least one of their children to have a normal life, while Soren didn't want all of them to be afflicted with his curse. Matt sometimes wishes he could join his big sister and their father on the hunt. Lucia wants to become innkeeper after her mother, and follows her around all day, asking questions constantly.
Nathaniel was an unplanned baby. Clary didn't know if she would be able to handle any more kids. She was actually worried about having another set of twins! Nate is more than enough trouble for her, though. He constantly begs Soren to take him to his "job". Luckily for Clary and Soren, Matthias likes to be a big brother and takes Nate almost everywhere. Nate, like Fiona, is a half-werewolf, so he's almost as strong and fast as his big brother already.
