I feel I should like Hazel more, because it's short, not frilly, and not over-used, but I'm not really feeling any love for it. I'm not really sure why either. Maybe it'll grow on me.

It's nice, sweet-sounding and charmingly retro.

I love it. I heard it on a four-year-old girl in a store last week and thought how cute it sounded.

I love Hazel in Watership Down. I don't think I could use it on anyone, though I tend to think of females rather than males.

I don't really like it, either. It was my grandmother's name, and it will always have an old lady image for me.But you know, I don't HATE it either. I can kind of sort of see that it kind of sort of has some charm.

It isn't a name I like either.
It makes me think of an older woman who is ratty and unkempt, maybe homeless. I'm not sure where this image comes from but it is what I picture.

I dislike it, as well. I think it just sounds too harsh.

I'm in the same boat as you. I find it old-fashioned in a bad way and unattractive-sounding. It also makes me think of Witch Hazel.

I hate it. I think it is incredibly ugly.

I used to be in the same boat. Something about the sound really put me off. Now, however, I love it.
I can't explain why; it just grew on me.

I like it, but in the school play last year, my one best friend played an absent minded old witch named Hazel and wore the worlds ugliest dress, a turtle neck and hiking boots for her costume and I can't shake the image of her like that whenever I hear the name. However, I do like it, and I can imagine a little girl having this name as well as an older, woman.

Well,
I have a dog named Hazel, which doesn't mean I think it sounds like a dogs name, or that I dislike it. I think it's nice and classic, and you certainly don't hear it all the time.

I actually quite like it.
