I don't really like the Beatles and in this day and age you really couldn't use it without people thinking of John Lennon. As far as the name itself, I think it's cute. I think of it as a girl name though, it's a little soft to be masculine...but not too masculine to be unfeminine. Does that make sense?

I used to like it for a boy more, but my best friend told me she wanted to name her first daughter Lennon. I hadn't thought of it for a girl before, but I really like it.

I agree. And using it on a girl would reduce the Beatles connotation, for me.
