I like both, but I strongly prefer Amalia to Emilia. I would like to use Amalia in the future, but I am not sure I'd get around to it. Amalia reminds me of Spanish royalty because they had a few of them.
I love them both. I'm not sure which one I'd go with. Emilia seems like hopping onto the Emma bandwagon and Amalia may get confused for my much-hated Amelia. Since Amalia seems kind of more pretentious to me, I'd take Emilia, I think.
I like Emilia better. Amalia is the name of a princess here in the Netherlands, so I only associate that name with her, but it's nice. Emilia is just a bit nicer :)
Amalia is really striking. I think the second a makes the name look prettier than Amelia even though I kind of prefer the prn of Amelia. Emilia is pretty too but kind of forgettable. I prefer Emilie to Emilia as well. I'd definately choose Amalia because it makes more of a impression.
I do really like Amelia, but my husband doesn't. I don't like the way Amelia sounds in Spanish or Portuguese though, and that is how most of our family will pronounce it.
