Just curious to see which spellings you'd prefer and how you'd pronounce a few names. I know most of these names aren't really liked by many people here but I would really like to see how you'd spell and pronounce them.
The reason for this is that I quite like the names KATE-lyn and KAY-lee and I'm just wondering how everybody would spell them upon hearing them and if she'd have to correct people constantly if I gave her one of these names. Also just to see what others find aesthetically pleasing, I guess. When I ask you how you would spell a name if you heard it said out loud just write down your first guess. Like if you had to make a list of people who join a school project and didn't have time to ask them to spell it out what would your first intention be and how would you spell it?

How do you pronounce Caitlin? What about Caitlín?: I'd pronounce them both the same, cat-leen, as the only ones I've ever met have pronounced their name that way (both of them were Irish)
Do you think it's wrong to pronounce Caitlin as KATE-lyn? I'm not keen on it. It seems weird to me to take foreign names and pronounce them differently - Caoimhe is not pronounced Kay-o-me and Aisling is not pronounced Ays-ling, Rainer is not pronounced Rain-er, Bjorn is not pronojunced Ba-jorn, etc., so I don't see why this one should be an exception. But realistically, I'll pronounce someone's name whatever way they want me to say it. :)

Question: Is KATE-lyn supposed to be pronounced as KAT-e-lin or as KAYT-lin with this key http://www.behindthename.com/pronunciation.php ?
I would assume KAY-lee to be spelled Kayley but I would prefer the spellings Kalee or Cailey.
I would assume KAT-e-lin to be spelled Kattalin and KAYT-lin to be spelled either Caitlin or Katelyn. At the same time those are my favorite spellings.

Yes, I think it's wrong to pronounce Caitlin or Caitlín as KAT-e-lin. I'd pronounce Caitlin as KAYT-lin and Caitlín as KAHT-leen.

HAY-lee: Ok. Trendy but not trashy.
KAT-e-lin: I would always wonder whether that is Katelyn mispronounced. Katelyn (prn. KAYT-lin) would be ok, btw.
KAY-lee and KAY-lin: A little trashy, I suppose.
I do not know any people with any of the names above because I do not live in an English speaking country.

Umm I know two Caitlins, both spelt Caitlin.

KAY-lee: Kayleigh is what pops into my head, although I don't like how it looks. I like the looks of Kailey, Kalie, and Kayley much better.
KATE-lyn: I think of Katelyn or Caitlin. I like Katelyn, Caitlin, and Kaitlin the best.
HAY-lee: I always spell it Haley, and only like it spelled this way.
KAY-lyn: Kaelynn is what I think of because I know a Kaelynn, but I like Kalin, Kailyn, and Kaylin the best, I think.
Haley is HAY-lee to me. Kaley is KAY-lee. Katlyn and Katlynn are KAT-lyn.
I would say Cateline as KATE-line.
I pronounce Caitlin as KATE-lyn, even though I know that's not how it is supposed to be pronounced traditionally. I see nothing wrong with pronouncing Caitlin as KATE-lyn.
I'm really not a fan of Cateline. Sorry :(
I am very neutral about Haley and Kailey, and I like Katelyn/Caitlin. Kailyn is growing on me a lot. I just can't find a spelling that I actually like.

Haley is HAY-lee to me. Kaley is KAY-lee. Katlyn and Katlynn are KAT-lyn.
I would say Cateline as KATE-line.
I pronounce Caitlin as KATE-lyn, even though I know that's not how it is supposed to be pronounced traditionally. I see nothing wrong with pronouncing Caitlin as KATE-lyn.

Kalen; Kaylynn, I guess. It looks terrible, but it is Kay + Lynn so that makes the most sense.
HALEY - HAY-lee or HAL-lee?
HAY-lee. In English phonetics one consonant like that would cause the vowel before it to have a long sound. HAL-lee would be spelled with two Ls.
KALEY - KAY-lee or KAL-lee?
KAY-lee, same situation as above.
KATLYN, KATLYNN - KATE-lyn or KAT-lyn?
KAT-lyn, again, same situation as above.
How do you pronounce CATELINE?
I've never seen it before... I guess I'd say it like Caitlin.
ETA: I just looked it up and after seeing what it is, I'd pronounce it kat-a-LEEN.
