Every Native American I've ever known has been named something like John or Jesse or Erin. They would definitely laugh at our outdated idea of "Native American names."

My favorite one in the BtN database is Zyanya! I think its absolutely gorgeous! And it means "forever, always," which is fantastic in my opinion.

Cherokee and Cheyenne aren't Native American names, they're the names of Native American people. They're not used as given names by Native Americans. That being said, the only one I really like that I can think of is Tallulah.

The only one I can think of would be the name of a guy in my class. His name is Sadele [pronounced SAH-delay] which means "sun blood" in Cree (sa-sun, dele-blood)

Native Americans do not use Cheyenne or Cherokee as given names, as far as I know. They denote a group of people. Also, I feel I should point out that saying "Native American Names" is a little like "European Names." It's a huge category spreading across two continents!
