I like it! Skye seems more of a complete spelling to me. I am more prone to like original spellings though. So generally I would like the Sky spelling more. However, for a name that extra e just seems to make it more substantial. So I pick Skye.

My niece's mn is Skye, and there's a Skylar and Sky(e) in the school I work at. I don't remember if she has the e on the end. I perfer Skye for a name, and Skylar is okay.

I like the name Skye with an e, after the Scottish island. Without the e it seems more hippyish to me, as it becomes totally a nature name.

My cousin's cousin had a baby recently and called her Skye. That's the first one I've personally known of here in the UK. Apparently they named her after the character from Neighbours, and the Aussie soap association does put me off the name a bit! I'd be more likely to use it as a mn for that reason and because it does seem "trendy" amongst young/teenage mothers, whereas I would like to go for something a bit more classic.

I love the name and so does DH. So much so that it's on our list for a future DD. I definitely prefer the spelling Sky. Haven't come across many Sky's in real life when I think about it.

I find both of them to be a bit childish.

I don't see Skye as being trendyt, but those other variations such as Skyla or Skylee look dead-on trendy.

To be honest, I have never met a Sky/Skye in my life. Overall I kind of like the Skye spelling, but middle name only. As long as it isn't spelled Skyy, like the vodka... *eye roll*

I like it, but only as a middle name. I only know of one person named Skye.

I like Sky\e, and I have met a Skye before. I like the Skye spelling better, like you said it seems more legit.

I have a friend named Skye and I adore the name. I actually quite like the "e" tacked on there, it adds some elegance to what could be a very flaky name. Of course, my Skye is a very studious old soul, so I don't see the name as flaky at all, but like many word names, it has the potential (like Amber, Crystal, Azure, etc)

She was born in the mid 80's, so maybe she was ahead of the Sky fad, but she is the only Skye I have met in my 26 years.

I love Skye obviously, I prefer the spelling Skye because it just looks more complete with the e on the end, I feel that way about some other names too like Shaye and Brooke.

I don't really see it as trendy, though alot of people do, I think Skylar and other Sky type names are. I prefer Schuyler anyway over Skylar.

I have only known 2 other Skyes, they went to primary school with me. The other day a lady (about 25ish) came to the door, she was selling something. Anyway she said her name was Sky (this spelling) and she was really excited to meet my daughter cos she said she'd never met anyone with her name before.

I also heard a mum call her daughter Skye/Sky (not sure of the spelling) at the shops a little while ago.

Sky was never trendy. Names like Skyler are more trendy than the name Sky itself, imo.

There are a few older girls (and boys), ages 7-18 or so, with this name that I know of in my area. I know more Skyler's than Sky's though.
