[Opinions] Howard and Harriet.
What do you think of Howard? Do you like the nn Howie? Any other nns?My husbands middle name is Howard after his grandfather, I've thought of using it before but I'm not sure. How about Harriet? Any nicknames?TIA!

Adorable set!To those of us who like the old-man chic, anyway! :) I like Hattie or Hetty for Harriet, and adore Howard, though Howie not as much. It is all right and all, but Howard seems like a very serious, gentle and kind name to me, while Howie strikes me as hyperactive, spoiled and destructive. Howard and Harriet would be out of this world as a sibset, in my opinion!

They're both nice names, and Howie is fine as an nn. The only Howard I've ever known was just called Howard. There are several Harriets in my family, and they're all known by the full version too (my cousin gets called Hazza occasionally). Hatty / Hattie is the only proper nn I've come across.

I'm not overly keen on either name, I see Howard as a very old fashioned name but then again, I love Howie! Howie I could really take to, it's one of those names that would suit both an old and a young person IMOHarriet is OK, and I think it sounds / looks better with a really girly middle name such Harriet Savannah or Harriet Alexandria

I don't care for Howard. I find it unbelievably nerdy. Howie isn't any better.I can't help but think Harriet is ugly. The NN Hattie is adorable, but I loathe Harriet. It just makes me think of a big, hairy woman.

Love both!!Howard, with the nickname Howie is totally cute! I much prefer Howie to Ward, lol!Harriet is so sweet, and Hattie, Hettie, and Ettie/Etta are adorable as nicknames!
