Two years ago Jake and Jade, along with the kids, moved to France and now they live in Nice. The family adapted very well to their new environment and now Remy and Juliette are more fluent in French than in English, much to their grandparents' dislike; they are also learning Niçard Occitan. The family will soon have a new addition, which Jade already stated is the last one. As usual, the Wrights want a French first name that sounds good in English, and they would like a middle name starting with J.

Andrew's sister Anna was arrested for shoplifting. She had already comitted this offence several times before, so the judge wasn't as lenient and gave her a fourteen-month sentence. Anna asked Andrew to have her daughter live with him and Patrick for that period of time, and they gladly accepted (Anna is a single mother and doesn't get along with her parents).

Rob recently found out he had a son from a previous relationship. It seems ten years ago he was seeing a woman who just disappeared without ever telling him she was pregnant. Last week she popped up at Rob and Gemma's door with her son, and after a lengthy conversation it was settled that the boy would now live with his father, since the mother had to go back to her country (Vietnam) for an undetermined period of time. Emily seems to be suspicious of the newcomer, but Sophia has already adopted him as her new favourite 'toy'. Flynn is friendly enough, but unfortunately the boy is afraid of dogs. This situation has put a strain on Rob and Gemma's relationship, since she thinks he should have told his ex-girlfriend off properly - which, according to her, he didn't. Rob is trying to ignore Gemma's foul temper and in turn get to know his son.

In the past four years a lot has changed for the Kings. Joseph was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer five months ago, and it is already at an advanced stage. Because of this, Will and Nicci have got married, since it was Joseph's wish to attend at least one of his children's weddings. Nicci is pregnant again, but unfortunately Joseph won't live to meet his second grandchild. Angela tries to busy herself with the twins and Vincent, who are still too young to fully grasp the concept of what will happen. Georgia got a boyfriend too, but she hasn't been seeing much of him lately due to her father's disease.
