[Opinions] Seraphina/Serafina
What do you think? Which spelling do you prefer? I think Seraphina / Serafina goes well with Matteo and my hubby actually likes this name. A few concerns about this name is that it may be a little over the top. Also, I have an extremely long surname so I'm not sure if Seraphina would be too much. Sera is an okay nickname but I'd rather use something else. Any suggestions? Thanks you =)

Seraphina is one of my absolute favorites. So beautiful! As for a nn, if you don't like Sera, then maybe Fina? Or even Fifi?

I prefer Seraphine, but Seraphina/Serafine is pretty. Normally, I like the spelling Seraphina better, but I think that Serafina looks better with Matteo. As for a nickname, how about Fina/Phina? I think it's cute.

Serafina is within my top five favorite girls names. I like Seraphina too, very nearly just as much, but I love the nickname Fina and I do not like it spelled Phina at all. So Serafina for me. Plus it seems a little more mythical to me spelled that way, less princess.

I love it spelt Serafina, and I think it's fine as a full name. Using a nn takes away from the beauty of it!

I love it. I like Seraphina best and love Seraphine as well. Sera is very cute! I know a Josefina who is called 'Fina' and I think that's cute too. Sera, Fina, Fera... I have a little Josephine or else this name would be way up on my list.

I like it. I think Serafina goes better with Matteo, and imo it's shorter and cuter. Saffy / Safi might work as an nn.

I think it's gorgeous. Unusual but still familiar.Which spelling do you prefer?
SeraphinaI think Seraphina / Serafina goes well with Matteo and my hubby actually likes this name.
Matteo and Seraphina is a stunning sibset. Seriously, just drop dead gorgeous. And woo-hoo about DH, sometimes that's the hardest part in picking a name!A few concerns about this name is that it may be a little over the top. Also, I have an extremely long surname so I'm not sure if Seraphina would be too much.
Seraphina doesn't feel OTT to me, despite it's length. Would Seraphine interest you? When I suggested Seraphina to my husband, he told me he'd much rather use Seraphine. I have a long last name as well, and both my girls have long names. Try it a few times out loud and see if it really is as cumbersome as you think. Plus, most people don't use their fn/ln combo as often as one or the other.Sera is an okay nickname but I'd rather use something else. Any suggestions?
Fi, Fee, or Phee; Phina, Phine, Fifi, Seena, Aphi, Ina

-I don't care for it. It's a little heavy on the ribbons and bows, very frilly.Which spelling do you prefer?
-If I had to choose, Seraphina.A few concerns about this name is that it may be a little over the top. Also, I have an extremely long surname so I'm not sure if Seraphina would be too much.
-Well, going by my first comment, I agree that it IS over-the-top. It would sound better with a short, one-syllable surname, like Jones or Smith. With a long surname, it would be too much.Sera is an okay nickname but I'd rather use something else. Any suggestions?
-Phina, Phee/Fee, Sarai, Aphina. I don't know.

I like Seraphina; it's not my favorite name ever, but it's elegant and unusual. I prefer Seraphina over Serafina. The ph just looks more balanced and natural than the f, and I agree with you about the Matteo combo. It might be a little problematic if you have a long name, but practice sounding it out and maybe it'll work and maybe it won't. I guess only you and your husband can decide that. I know a Seraphina who goes by her full name, much to her on chagrin, and she keeps insisting that she be called either Sera or Phina but her parent refuse to let her go by either. I think Fifi would also be a logical nickname but not one that I would ever choose ;-)

Very nice!Goes FABULOUSLY with Matteo. I myself prefer Seraphina, but Serafina is all right as well. I just think the "ph" softens the name a tad.Apparently a common nickname (in Russia I think?) for Seraphina is Simah. I think that name is adorable. If Seraphina is too long, what about Seraphine? Knocks on syllable off, at least ;)
