[Opinions] Ginevra
Recently many posted that they don't like Guinevere. How do you feel about its Italian form, Ginevra?
Personally, I like it, but I don't think I'd use it because of the possible nickname Ginny, which I don't like. And Ginevra, to me, doesn't exactly trip off the tongue, so I think that a nickname is more likely for it than other names. But I do like it.

I find it rather mediocre and a bit dowdy, though I find Geneva quite spirited and cute.
I love Ginevra. I used to hate Ginny and Jenny until I heard Adelaide calling out, "Hi, Jenny!" to the cutest little red headed girl. It dawned on me at that moment that far from being old and boring, it could be spunky and cute as hell.
We found a kitten a few months ago which we called Ginevra nn Ginny. Evie could be cute for Ginevra.
I like Guinevere as well, but it seems like it could be a Really Big Name and possibly difficult to pull off or live up to as a child. Though Ginevra is clunkier, I think it is somewhat more accessible, esp with the Harry Potter connection.

I love it
It's been on my top ten for years now. I don't care for the nickname Ginny either and I was thinking possibly Eva (pr AY-va) but I'm not sure if that is too far of a stretch.

Personally, Its not my taste. It sounds ever so old, and its lost its bounce. I feel something like Serena or Matilda sound bouncy and fun. Ginevra just sounds so boring to my taste, but that shouldnt put you off the name, as Im only saying my personal feelings towards the name.
Nev and Evra are all possible nicknames for Ginevra. But if you had the name Ginevra, most people would most likely called you Ginny.

Ginevra is one of my favorite Italian names, I have always imagined that if I actually used this I would use the nn Neve and not Ginny.
I like it. It's pretty
I don't like it. It doesn't have the kind of sound that I respond to.
I love Ginevra! I fell in love with it early this year and it's still on my short list.
I'm not fond of the nickname Ginny, either. I prefer "ehv-ee" (however you want to spell it).

It's pretty and I like it, but it doesn't pass the supermarket test for me. :)
Guinevere and Ginevra are both lovely. You could use Nev, Ev, or Evie as nicknames for Ginevra instead of Ginny.
I feel pretty much the same way as you. It's nice, but it's awkward to say, and I also dislike Ginny. I appreciate it, but if I was given the choice between Ginevra and Guinevere, I would probably choose the latter.
I love Ginevra. It's very pretty. I like Ginny, too, though.
I think it's pretty. But I LOVE Ginny. I will like names more just because that can be a nn for it. I also like the Harry Potter connection!
It's okay. It reminds me of germs and nerves.
I much prefer Minerva.
