[Opinions] Twin names
Hi, I'm having twins, I didn't want to know the genders, but Im not sure what their names should be.I was thinkingfor a girl/s- Kyra(ki-ra) Anngelique and/or kiera(key-aira)(if I have 2 girls i dont know what the 2nd ones middle name would be!)for a boy/s- Blade LeAnder and/or Blaise(same thing... if i have 2 boys, dont know a good middle name!) I asked for my husbands help and he said if it was up to him he'd name our kids after him.... but I'm not really into original or common names and I dont think it would be a good idea to have two DJs running around!Anngelique

I like Kiera over Kyra, and Kierra over Kiera. Mn- Angelique (not 2 Ns) is pretty.
Blaise Leander is the best combo out of those 3 name choices._________________________________________________

I'm going with the general opinion on the twins names. Kyra & Kiera and Blade & Blaise are way too close for twin's names. I think twins really do a little more of their own identity and one way to do that is by giving them names that flow together nicely but are seperate. One of the most comon misconseption about twins is that their names have to start with the same letter or sound the same. I know several twins who hate having their names be so much a like. Like two older ladies Dorothy & Dorothea who adopted the names Mary & Hope because they were always getting mixed up and their mother really wanted to name her daughter Mary Hope but she ended up with two daughters so she thought she had to use names that were alike! So my suggestion would be to give your twins names that flow together nicely but are distinctly different names to help distinguish their different personalities. As you'll learn twins can look a lot alike but yet be so totaly different! If you want a theme perhaps you should try first names that mean the same thing or have a theme like flower names, Bibical names, ect. or you could try doing a middle name theme. Names starting with the same letter are nice but often sound too cutesy and people (including you and your husband) will find themselves stumbling over their names! :)I think Keira Anngelique & Blaise Leander are really cute combos! I almost hope you have boy/girl twins so you can use both of those names! :)Sorry this is so long! I hope you find names you like soon.Image hosted by Photobucket.comBunny, Gigi, Chloris, Wilma, Darleen, Eartha

Kyra Angelique and Blaise Leandersound good for g/b twins. Or Kiera Angelique for the girl.I agree that Kiera and Kyra are way too similar for sisters. And Blade and Blaise are also too similar. I don't like Blade anyway (I think of the movie Blade Runner), I like Blaise and Blake better. If you want the twins names, why not use anagrams, like Diana and Nadia, Caroline and Cornelia, Alice and Celia, Jason and Jonas etc.Or names with the same meaning, like Andrew and Charles (both mean "man"), Matthew and Jonathan (both mean "God's gift") or Aurora and Roxanne (both mean "dawn") or Thomas and Linnea (Thomas means "twin" and Linnea menas "twin flower") etc. This way it gets less confusing and obvious."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I think your first names are too similiar for twins, or ever siblings. Kyra and Kiera are almost the same name. Ditto for Blake in Blade. In addition, Blade sounds plain violent to me, sorry.I like both girls names and Blake, though. And I think its cool that you are passing on your name to one of the girls as a mn. My childhood best friend's mom did that, and she was veyr proud that her mom's name was her mn.I like Leander, but without the random capital letter. Blake Leander sounds nice, imo. :-) I like Blake Leander and Kyra Angelique a lot. There are plenty of ways you could honor your husband without being bland or common. For example, one twin mn could start with a D, the other a J, and then he would have a DJ of sorts.I'll try to find a few lists you might enjoy later. For now, I am off to watch Lost!Good luck!Arcadia

I think Kyra and Kiera are far to similar for twins, twins share so much already and most of the twins / Multiples I know hate cutsey twinsey names
Though on their own both names are nice, though I personally would pronounce Kiera - Keer uh and Kyra as Kie ruh
Kyra Angelique flows nicelyBlade and Blaise are too close for me too I dont like siblings having the same initials let alone twins
Blade Leander - I love Leander but would prefer it with Blaise
