[Opinions] Re: When full names and nicknames have a completely different vibe...
Yep, and that's sometimes what I like a lot about nickname options. Some nicknames might end up fitting someone's personality more later on.Some that I think are different:
Alexandra - sophisticated; Alexa, Lexi - froofy and bratty; Alex - bright, quirky
Audrey - dark and calm; Audie - bright and energetic
Charles - strong and serious; Charlie - friendly and kind (love the difference with this though and would use this name/nn on a son)
Edward - dashing; Ed - stuffy; Ned - nerdy; Ted - kind
Eleanor - elegant, beautiful; Nell - sweet; Nora - sweet, but more daring; Ellie - girly, bubbly
Frances - shy, studious; Frankie - bright, bouncy, happy
Genevieve - elegant, regal; Genny, Ginny - yes, very girl-next-door; Vivi - edgy; Evie - sweet, youthful
...okay, I think I've made my point. It would take me forever to keep going through my PNL like this!I think plenty of nicknames have a more youthful feel than their full names, at least. That's kind of the point for some nicknames.
