[Opinions] Shanley?
Ok I have a problem. Me and my DH were talking about girls names just for children later on. Well is Dad died a couple years ago and well his Dad's name was...William Shenandoah (they called him Shenan, pro. Shannon)So my DH came up with Shanley for a girl. Can you please suggest some middle names for it? Also what are some other girls names to honor Shenan?
Shanley _________ H.Thanks

I agree with the other posters that Shanley just doesn't sound right. What about Willa Shenandoah as a full name? That is beautiful! She could go by Willa or Shena/Shana. Or you could just use Shenandoah on it's own. I think that's a better way to honor your FIL. Shenandoah makes such a lovely and unusual name, I hate to see just a derivative of it used to honor someone by that name.

My friend's name is Shenandoah! She's a girl, though. I call her by her full name, although some of her other friends call her Shannon or Sheny.
Please don't use Shanley! Just use Shenandoah in full...
My friend Shenandoah has a more traditional taste in names...what about Jasper, Calvin, or Riley, as she would suggest.

I would use Shanna

and sounds like a surname name. It's like naming a girl Hanley or Chandler, IMO.I'm in favor of Shenandoah or Shannon. Shenan is fine too, better than Shanley IMO. Anyway, Shanley Claudia H.
Shanley Maria H.
Shanley Therese H.
Shanley Christine H.

What's wrong with ....Willamina or Willa, or even Shenandoah?! That would be a kick-butt name.I'm not seeing the connection between Shenandoah "Shenan" and Shanley myself. Even Shannon seems more connected to the actual name than Shanley.BUT regardless:Shanley Lilac
Shanley Sylvia
Shanley Delilah
Shanley Mabel
Shanley Jane
Shanley Eliza
Shanley Fern
Shanley Pearl
Shanley Willa
Shanley Wilhelmina
Shanley Stella
Shanley Josette
Shanley Claire
Shanley Rose
Shanley VioletPS - I started writing "Shanely" by mistake after a bit - what about that? Seems a touch more girly :)

What's wrong with using Shannon?

IMO Shanley sound like someone tried by failed to say Stanley. You could always go with Shan, Shauna, Shena. It may be a bit of a stretch, but Nancy? Anyway, hope those helped.

I think Shenandoah sounds like a lovely girl's name, to be honest.Shena would be another pretty derivative.I don't particularly like the singer, and maybe the association is too strong, but Shania also came to mind.
