[Opinions] Augustine (for a girl)
I really like this name, but what nicknames could be used with it? I don't like Gus or Gussie - it seems so bumbling compared with the polish the full name possesses. Would Aggie be too much of a stretch? What would you use?

I'd use AugustI grew up with a kid that had a little sister named August so Augustine nn August doesn't bother me. Even if you only consider August a boy's name, Sam is used as a nickname for Samantha.

Aggie is a perfectly normal nn for Augustine (which I pronounce "ah-gus-TEEN" for a girl). Why ever not?I agree that Gus or Gussie is not the best for a girl, even though I knew one in school. Another possible nn would be Tina. But Aggie is by far my favorite.

I think Aggie is just a concern because technically it should be "Auggie", because the name is "Aw-gus-teen" and not "AG-uh-steen" (in my accent).I like Aggie a lot too. I just wasn't sure if it was too much of a leap from "Og" to "Ag". :)
