I like Daphne...I really just like Greek names in general.
And yes, I associate it with Scooby Doo (not a bad thing...that was my favorite show as a young child!). But now that I'm older I tend to not have that large of an association with her...there are other Daphnes...in Harry Potter there's Daphne Greengrass, sister of Astoria Greengrass, the wife of Draco Malfoy. In general, I just see a Daphne as a light-weight, springy girl. There's nothing wrong with that...that basically indicates that it's a nymph/fairy name...interesting that it originally was the name of a nymph.
