I'm currently living in a student flat in Germany, and two of my flatmates are Polish. They call me by the polish version of my name, as well as a shortened version, and wondered how it is spelt...

It sounds like "Shi-Shu"

It is something different to Krzys as they call me that too.

You mean Krzysiu, which is the cutesy version of Krzysiek (pet form of Krzysztof). You'd use Krzysiu on a child.

Strictly vocative - it connotes endearment. Cutesy and used on a child.
