[Opinions] Dixie
I know a professional with this name. I'm not so sure how I feel about it... I guess I just don't get it...

Hmm, I'm not to keen on the "confederacy" associations this name has. Plus it's a wee bit trashy IMO. But I guess it's all right as a nickname.
I went to a school out in the boonies and one of the lunch ladies there was named Dixie. I also had ones named Starla and Vonnie. I'm not sure why country folks always have weird names like these.
I named my calculator this! After Texas Instruments...
I like the sound of the name, but unfortunately for it, it's just too ... theme-ish. Like already said, I'd name a pet (or calculator) after it, but a person would be too cheesy.

I know a Dixie too
An amazingly sweet woman, with the most terrible "luck" in the world (her family just seems to experience crisis after crisis), so despite its sunny sound, it's got a touch of tragedy to it for me.
I like it as a pet's name mostly, or as a nickname for a more dour D-name like Delores.
