Yeah I have a thing for names that mean "star" at the moment for some reason. I like Estella and Astraea and today I thought of Stella, though I'm not sure about it at all.

What do you think of Stella?

It's growing on me, but it still sounds a bit choppy (as opposed to Estella). I also worry it will get really (top 20) common. Do you know anyone named Stella? Any babies? When you talk to people you know (non name nerds) do they still think it sounds old or do they find it modern and nice?

Astraea, Estella or Stella? Which one is your favorite and which one your least favorite?

I like Stella.
But it is becoming a bit 'celebrity' baby-ish.
There are a few celebrities with little girls named Stella now.
I'm not sure if that would stop me from using it or not, but it is something to think about.
I do agree that it is definately on the rise overall though.

I love love love this name. It reminds me of the book about the bat, Stella Luna. I love celestial names. :D

Stella is one of those names that I can't figure out how I still like it because I have such weird personal associations with it. The only Stella I know is my age (27) and she was super weird. I think it fits any age, but I don't know about other people. Stella is my favorite of the names you listed.

I think Stella's nice, but it's increasing in popularity for babies (but for adults it's uncommon right now) and Estella seems so much nicer to me. I know one person named Stella. (newborn baby) If I happened to talk to people about the name, I think they would find it modern and nice. But Stella is a bit cheesy. :/

I don't hate any of them, I just like some more than others.

It's beautiful! I'd consider it for a a daughther and I prefer it to Astrea or Estella, though Estella's nice too. I think I met one Stella in my life, Italian, must be in her 40s by now. It's relatively uncommon, without being rare, in Italy, no idea about elsewhere.

Personally, I find Stella to be a bit cheesy and dated. It reminds me of "A Streetcar Named Desire", so I can't help but picture a brutish Marlon Brando screaming it at the top of his lungs.

Out of the three you listed, I like Estella the best. Astraea is very nice, too.

I like Stella! I like it a lot more than Estella. I don't know anyone named this but I think of CSI (New York?) where one of them are named Stella. I haven't talked with a non name nerd about Stella, but I don't think my friends find it dated at all.

Out of your named Stella is my favorite and my second favorite is Astraea.

Out of those three Estella is my least favorite. Both Astraea and Stella are nice but I wouldn't use them. I know one Stella who is about 20. I think where I live many people consider Stella neither dated nor trendy.
