[Surname] Fratarcangeli
Help with the meaning of Fratarcangeli?
It probably goes without saying that this surname is Italian. :-P It is my mother's maiden name; her father and his family were from Ceprano in central Italy.
Bits and pieces of the name are reminiscent of something familiar: 'frat' like fraternal or any number of words related to it, also 'arcangeli' or 'angeli.' But I'd love to hear a more informed opinion than take stabs at it myself based on sounds alone.
Thanks!

You must cut a path through this mess of men like a cannon-ball, or creep among them like a pestilence."

Thank you both so much! :-)
This surname is from the area of Frosinone, not far from Rome. Ceprano is known for its archeolocical sites.
"Frate" means "brother" in southern italian dialects.

Fratarcangeli is composed of frate 'brother' and the plural of arcangelo 'archangel'.
