[Opinions] Bryony
What do you think of Bryony for a girl? Would you spell it Bryony or Briony? Do you pronounce it BRY-o-nee or BREE-o-nee (for Briony)?
Do you know anyone with the name? I heard of quite a few Bryonys who live in Britain.
Do you think it has a trendy sound? It doesn't seem common at all but it does make me think of Brooke, Brianna and Brittany.

I say BRY-o-nee with either spelling. I like it quite a bit, although it's not one I would use. I do think that if you pronounce it "BREE-o-nee" it has a trendy sound.
Briony = Bree-oh-nee
don't care for the Brine sounds in bry-oh-nee

Really nasty character in the recent movie Atonement.
Please spell it as phonetically as possible--otherwise your kid is stuck spelling it several times a day for the rest of her life. Which would be Briony.

My cousins' mother is named Bryony. I have also met a Breeony.
It's okay. I'm never sure if I like it or not, probably because with the two 'y's, it does look a bit trendy, although it's been used in the UK for quite a while - it's never been common, but the earliest one I found was born in 1854. I'd pronounce both versions as BRY-o-nee. I know one Bryony, and she's 30-ish.
I'm not really a fan of it, but I pronounce it BRY-o-nee and prefer the Bryony spelling.
I live in Britain and know one who is 19.

I'm not a fan of B names but I think it's pretty nice. Bryony looks a little trendy but I could see it being a pretty cute name, not that I'd use it myself.
I think I would end up pronouncing it BREE-o-nee, it sounds more normal/common than with the long 'i' sound.
I don't know anybody named Bryony/Briony but it reminds me of Briony Tallis from the book (and movie) Atonement.
