i'm eastern european, and a common nn for Natasha is Nate (pronounced NAH teh). I don't like Tasha, Tash, Nat etc either.
I know Nate is a boy's name, but that's obviously pronounced differently, and we don't use it as a boys name anyway.
I adore Natasha, very pretty. Definitely does not sound like a stripper name at all!
