[Opinions] Max
Opinions on Max? I really like it but I feel like it should be a nn for something. Do you prefer Maximilian, Maxwell, or something else?

I like Maxwell... It reminds me of Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
I like Maximilian better, but I like Maxence best!
I would probably like Maxwell if it didn't remind me immediately of a coffee brand, and I can't ge past this association.
Otherwise you also have Maxime, Maximilien...

I've always kind of liked it. At one point in high school it was even my favorite name. I was never sure which name I liked the most as the full name-- Maximilian or Maxwell. I think I usually leaned towards Maximilian, and I think it's still the same.
I like it, but prefer/love Maxwell. I do think it works fine as a given name, though.
I much prefer Maxwell to Maximilian. Maximilian just seems stuffy, effete, and pretentious to me.
I love Max, but like you, I like it better as a nickname than a full name. People say it's trendy, but I have never known a Max of any age.

I am the opposite. I think Maxwell sounds stuffy and pretentious. Maximilian sounds older and more traditional to me. I agree with you, Max doenst seem trendy to me either. Ive only known one who is in his 20's.

I like it, and I prefer it as a full name itself, more than Maximilian or Maxwell.
Max Adair is my favorite combo for it.

I'm not overly fond of it, but I think it's okay as a nickname for Maxwell.
I think it works very well as an independent name. If necessary, I'd prefer Maxwell, but I'd only ever use Max.
I like the feel of Maxwell, but can't help thinking 'bang, bang Maxwell's silver hammer...' every time I hear it. I'm not a fan of Maximilian, either. :S I actually think it works better in the feminine as a short for of Maxine.
Love the name Max as a full name or as a nn for a longer name. Maximilian is my fave longer name.
I like it and think it's fine as a full name. Maximilian's way too long for me, and Maxwell's too coffee-ish and surnamey. If I really had to pick a longer version, I'd go with Macsen or Maxim.
I really like it, though I too have the problem of finding a full name to go with it, even though I think it's the kind of nn that works on an adult. Anyway, I prefer Maximillian to Maxwell.
For years this is what I wanted to name a future son. If my daughter had been a boy she would have been named Max, short for Maxwell. I feel Maxwell is the best long version, but don't mind Max on it's own. I sort of like Maximus too, but then you get gluteus maximus out of that.
The reason I nixed it for the boy I'm expecting is that I guess my tastes have sort of changed. I realized when all the boys named Max or named Maxwell, Maximilian, Maximus, ect. that go by Max are added up, that is a lot of Max's and I just found it overdone.

I like Max, and LOVE Maximilian "Max". Maxwell is dated imo.
My cousin is having a boy in february, she will name him Max.
Edit: Max is a quite popular name here. There is one in my school (180 students) and there was at least one in my last school and I know plenty of children named Max.
