Robert and Raine bought a new house a year after Elaheh was born. When Kieran saw how large their land was he asked for a puppy, a horse, a kitten, a lion, a zebra and a giraffe. His parents laughed but they decided it would be good for the kids to have a pet. They bought a golden retriever puppy for Kieran and he named her Graciella, after his favorite animal book character. Raine told him that Graciella was a cat but he didn't care. Robert also bought a 3 year old horse, Thunder, a name he found in Raine's books.
