Help[Opinions] Avis / Avice?
What do you think about the name Avis / Avice? Does one spelling appeal to you more? If so, why? Its meaning has to do with birds, (avis = bird in Latin) so of course that might put some people off, but it also has the meaning "desired." I like how it's close to Alice, which is popular enough as a feminine name, so I don't think people would have any trouble with it. Can you think of any combos for it?

I love Avis. It does remind me of the car rental company, so it would not be my first choice, but I love the meaning and sound. Avice looks a little too close to avarice though.
Are you pronouncing it AH-vis or AY-vis? I like it both ways, but would probably pronounce it AY-vis, like the car company.

Yes, I am pronouncing it AY-vis. It's the prettiest pronounciation imo.

I enjoy Avis / Avice; I prefer the former, though, for Avice reminds me of "avarice" and "a vice."
