[Opinions] Re: Alfred
Aw. When I was 7 years old I had a hamster named Alfred (the Great). Then I got two more, Albert and Alexander (as in the Macedonian). The nn Alf / Alfie is adorable. I wonder why Alfred isn't more popular given the fact that there's a king named "Alfred the Great." Hmm. I know Alfred was part of the Victorian medieval, Anglo-Saxon revival, along with Wilfred, Cedric, etc. Perhaps their time is just around the corner. Fashion is a fickle thing. From your list, I like everything but:Alfred Basilio
Alfred Battista
Alfred Emile
Alfred Jesper (although Alfred Jasper would be nice)
Alfred Lino (reminds me of linoleum)
Alfred Marco (I adore Marco, but just not here)
Alfred Nikolai (klang!)
Alfred Semyon / Simeon (I can't get apes out of my head)
Alfred Theodore (too chipmunk)My favorites:Alfred Barnaby
Alfred Byron (poet lovers delight)
Alfred Cornelius
Alfred Cyril
Alfred Eustace (fun!)
Alfred George
Alfred Hugo
Alfred Leopold
Alfred Louis (2 overlooked gems that combine beautifully)
Alfred Maurice
Alfred Osbert (fun!)
Alfred theobald (inspired!)
Alfred Ulysses (why is this vaguely familiar?)I'd gush more but I've got to leave now. Great list!
