[Opinions] Kristen.
What do you think of the name Kristen, for a boy?My male friend's name is Kristen, he goes by Kris mostly.I prefer Christian or Tristan but Kristen isn't too bad. Maybe I am so used to it cos I've been good friends with him for over 10 years.

The only Kristens I know are female. It's a girl's name for me.

It looks pretty strange to me as a boy's name, but I guess if you lived in an area where it wasn't unheard of on boys it wouldn't be too bad - I guess it's a bit like Christy, which isn't uncommon on men in Ireland but would be assumed to be a girl's name in most other English-speaking places.Tristan is much better, imo.

I've only ever known a girl Kristen! Naughty lass, much given to claiming that she couldn't get her eyeliner off ... resembled a panda.Conversely, there's a bloke in the news here at the moment who's called Kirsten. Can't recall the ln, but he's heading the South African football governing body - can't recall the acronym either.

I don't like it for a boy!
I like Kristen for a girl though.

Only if it was culturally appropriate, but even then I'd still prefer Christian. Kristen is widely considered to be a girl's name and not unisex, so a boy named Kristen in an English speaking country would be akin to a boy named Sue.
