[Opinions] Re: January BAs (UK)
in reply to a message by Sofia
I like...
-Harry
John Frederick Hugh*** - YAY!!! This one is so dignified.
Benjamin Charles Spinney
-Luke
Oliver Samuel
George Lambert James, Frank
Hector George Jocelyn Savile*, Arthur - Jocelyn on a boy? Is that a surname as well as a female given name? It's a good, aristocratic name, anyway, even though I don't like Hector...it's good in that context.
Murray Archibald** - yay Archibald! At least it wasn't Murray Archie...nothing wrong with that combo, but it's just not as nice as Archibald.
Harrison Henry - eh. Not as redundant as the time I encountered Joe Joey...ugh. Harrison Henry is in the very least dignified. And I have a friend by that name...in his case it honors two family members named Harry and Harold.
George James
Archie Brian
Noah Joshua
Maxwell Peter
Lewis Fraser*, Katie and Emma - I always prefered Lewis to Louis...and Fraser I love because of the show!
Albert ’Albie’ Anthony Astor** - I'm glad to see Albert making a comeback (and although I detest Albie it's better than Al, Bert, Bertie, or Allie...I'd say Allie is better but it's too feminine for a guy) I really like Astor because it makes me think of the Astor family.
Martha Florence Kate**, Freddy - I love to see Martha, and Florence is one of my all-time faves, so awesome set.
Charlotte Emily, Ned - wonder if they are Bronte fans?
Sophie Elizabeth, Eleanor Faye* and Madeleine Amy
-Rosie
Eleanor May*
-Ruairidh
Luke Henry
Curtis and Isaac

Jocelyn (like Ashley and Leslie) is still used for boys in UK (they all started as male names).
