[Opinions] Gwendolen
How do you feel about Gwendolen? Do you prefer the spelling Gwendolyn? Any middle name suggestions?I'm really warming to it. It is my favourite Gwen- name of the moment.

I love it, in theory at least. I find it very striking, especially with the Gwen- syllable at the beginning.Gwendolyn would probably be more usable, but I vastly prefer Gwendolen. I actually prefer Gwenda to both.

It's nice.I have a great aunt named Gwendolyn (she goes by Gwen)
and I do think the name is very nice, she's kind of a pretentious person, and my grandma didn't like her a whole lot.
I'm not sure of her middle name, actually. My grandmas name is similar, Valoryn (vah-lor-in, not val-lor-in) Ruth. All in all, I like the name spelled Gwendolen better than Gwendolyn, and I think I'd prefer Gwen by itself better.

I adore Gwendolen (this sp) but I would probably use it for a character in a story, rather than for a child. It also seems very princessy to me. I prefer this or Guinevere to Gwyneth.

preferit spelled with the "y" and not shortened but said as the whole name "Gwendolyn" sounds like music!

Gwendolen is a long time favorite of mine. It has a very mystical and whimsical feel and look to it.The spelling Gwendolen looks much nicer, imo. Plus, if I remember correctly, the spelling 'lyn' in Welsh makes a name masculine (traditionally). Gwendolen would be the feminine spelling of the name.My favorite Gwendolen combo is Gwendolen Eve.

I really like it; my grandmother's name was Gwenden and until she died I always thought her name was Gwendolen. I would definitely use Gwendolen to honor her. I think Gwendolyn looks more feminine, but I'd still use the traditional feminine spelling. I also like Gwenyth.

I absolutely adore Gwendolen. I used to prefer the -lyn spelling, but that changed for some reason. My favorite combo is Gwendolen Alice.

I love it! And I like both spellings, but Gwendolen looks more elegant, so it gets my vote. I also love Gwen or Wendy as a nn.I don't have many suggestions, except that I really like the combo Gwendolen Noelle, I think it's sweet

Thank you so much for this list, Snapdragon! I love so many of these names. I haven't thought of Lux for such a long time, and that used to be a favourite of mine.

Gwendolen Ivy - this is beautiful and my favourite from those listed! I'm not usually a big fan of Ivy but these go so well. :)
