It's my daughter's name, spelled without the "e", though. And since it's her name, I love it, of course.
Her middle name is Victoria, named for her paternal grandmother.

There was a French model in the 80's named Carole (surname pronounced "bo-kay"). I fell in love with the French pronunciation and had the combo "Josephine Carole" in my head, with the full Gallic "zho-zeh-FEEN ca-ROL" bouncing around in there happily. Just a fancy.
I have always loved Carole Lombard movies, so the name has nothing but positive associations for me. I prefer this French spelling to English Carol, but both are nice. I pronounce them the same way in English.
Let's see, other combinations. Something equally warm and welcoming. How about:
Carole Virginia
Carole Jacinda
Carole Bryony
Carole Gillian
Carole Emma
Carole Margot / Marjorie / Mairead
Carole Glenna
Carole Julia
Carole Evelyn
Carole Emily
Carole Sylvia
Carole Germaine
Carole Gervaise
Carole Joan / Siobhan / Jeanette / Johanna / Joanna
Carole Patricia
Carole Eugenia / Eugenie

I like it too, but I have the impression it's really dated.
Of all of the dated post WWII names, (one of which is mine :-D), Carol has got to be the blandest and most boring. Adding the E at the end doesn't really help in that department.
This reminds me, though, that there was a girl in my high school class who spelled it Carrel. I did always think that that spelling made it seem more interesting.
